Google is marking Earth Day 2022 by featuring real time-lapse imagery from Google Earth and other sources showing the impacts of climate change across our planet.
Google in the early hours of Friday changed its doddle feature to celebrate the day.
Google doodle uses the four Gifs created from satellite imagery and photographs from The Ocean Agency. The Gifs will rotate throughout the day.
The Doddle covers the climate changes in pictures from 1986 to 2020.
Through the pictures, Google is showing the factors that brought drastic changes in the environment- greenhouse gas and the rise of carbon.
It also shows negative impacts caused by climate change such as the rise of heat due to the rising level of carbon and the rise of water levels in the coastal area around the world.
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
The day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970. It now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
This year the official theme of this event is “invest in our planet”.
