Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday predicted that rain is likely to occur in parts of the country.
"Rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," the Met office said in a forecast for the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.
Trough of westerly low lies over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over the south Bay, the Met office said.
The country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius in Rangamati and the minimum temperature on Friday was recorded 21.6 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Kurigram.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6:00am Friday was recorded 26mm at Rajarhat.
The sun will set at 6:17pm on Friday and will rise at 5:44am on Saturday in Dhaka.
