The Met office on Friday predicted that rain or thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over the country, which could bring back the chill in the air.

“Rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places
over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a forecast for the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am.

Light to moderate fog may occur at isolated places over the country during late night to morning, it said.

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country.

Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas while seasonal low lies over the South Bay, the BMD said.

The country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 31.8 degrees Celsius in Patuakhali and the minimum temperature on Friday was recorded 14.8 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am Friday was recorded 34mm at Sayedpur.

The sun will set at 5:59pm on Friday and will rise at 6:24am on Saturday in Dhaka.
