Saber for environmental collab with EIB

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury has said Bangladesh and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will strengthen environmental and economic collaboration in the coming days.    

"We are looking forward to a future of robust collaboration that not only will address climate change but also promote sustainable economic growth for the people of Bangladesh," he said.

The minister made the remarks at a bilateral meeting with Nicola Beer, vice president of EIB on Wednesday in Luxembourg, according to a message received on Thursday.

Nicola Beer commended the holistic approach presented during the meeting, highlighting its potential to tackle climate change and spur economic development simultaneously.

"It was a very inspiring meeting with Environment Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury. We welcome this comprehensive strategy to connect the fight against climate change with economic growth, ultimately benefiting Bangladeshi citizens," said EIB’s Vice President Nicola Beer.

This meeting marked a pivotal step in the continued cooperation between Bangladesh and the European Investment Bank, aiming to deliver impactful results in the fight against climate change while fostering economic prosperity.
