Over 10cr mobile internet users in country: BTRC

The number of mobile internet subscribers crossed 10 crore in the country as of March 2020. 

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said this on Thursday.

A total of 103.253 million people have been using internet among 165.337 million mobile phone subscribers, said a press release from BTRC.

Among the internet users, 95.168 million are mobile internet users, 0.002 million are WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) users while 8.084 are using ISP (Internet service provider) and PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) until the end of March, it said.

BTRC has calculated the number of ISP subscribers through market analysis, consultation and data collection from ISP operators.

The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission also disclosed that 75.333 million people are using Grameenphone, 49.718 million Robi, 35.373 million Banglalink and 4.913 million people are using state-owned mobile Teletalk.
