Bangladesh has gone up 27 stages to rank top in South Asia in the National Cyber Security Index – 2021.

Bangladesh stands 38th with a score of 59.74 while India occupies 39th position with the same score among 160 countries around the world in the National Cyber Security Index (NCSI) ranking.

Bangladesh was in 65th position on the previous index, conducted by the Estonia-based e-Governance Academy Foundation, in December 2020.

In the latest index, released on the NCSI website, Greece tops with 96.1 points, followed by the Czech Republic with 92.21 and Estonia with 90.91 points.

Singapore (16th) is the only Asian country among the top 20 while the US ranked 17th and the UK 19th. Among other Asian countries, Sri Lanka ranks 69th, Pakistan 70th, Japan 34th, and China 83th.

The index has been prepared based on the cyber security and digital development situation of the participant countries evaluating the preparedness in resisting basic cyber-attacks, cyber incidents, crime and activeness in handling major crises.
