“Bangladesh has huge potential for export of agro-processed food products, but the lack of world-class testing laboratories is hindering entrepreneurs from exporting,” said he calling upon BSTI to set up a laboratory of international standard to harness the potentials of the sector.

He was addressing a programme titled, “Shared vision for a better world – Standards for SDGs” marking the World Standards Day at the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute in the capital.

In Bangladesh, the BSTI mainly formulates and monitors standards for agriculture and food, chemicals, jute and textiles, electrical, electronics and engineering products.
