23 firms getting Bangabandhu Industrial Award

Twenty-three industries are receiving the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial Award-2020 on Thursday. The government had selected these organisations under seven categories and issued a notification in this regard last June.

The Ministry of Industries took this initiative on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the ceremony will be held at the capital’s Osmani Memorial Auditorium for the first time ever.

This award will recognise the contribution of entrepreneurs and organisations in their respective industries, create incentives, and encourage creativity.

The first prize winner in each category will get Tk 3 lakh and a 25-gram gold plated crest. The second prize will get Tk 2 lakh and a 20-gram gold plated crest, while the third prize winner will get Tk 1 lakh and 15-gram gold plated crest.

Under the large industries category, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd secured the first position, followed by Jaj Bhuiyan Textile Mills Ltd in second position. Aduri Apparels Ltd and Universal Jeans Ltd jointly achieved the third position.

Auko-Tex Ltd and Fortune Shoes Ltd jointly secured the first position as medium-scale industries. Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Ltd became second, while Madhabdi Dyeing Finishing Mills Ltd secured the third position.

In the small-scale industries category, Aman Plastic Industries secured the first position, SR Handicrafts achieved second, and Alim Industries Ltd became third.

Karukola won the first position among micro industries, followed by Trim Tex Bangladesh as second, and Janata Engineering as third. Under the hi-tech industries category, Service Engine Ltd secured the first position, Super Star Electronics Ltd became second, and Mir Telecom Ltd achieved the third position.

Under the handicraft industries category, Classical Handmade Products BD secured the first position, followed by Ayojon as second, and Sonargaon Nakshi Katha Mohila Unnoyon Organisation as third. From cottage industries, Cumilla Arts and Crafts secured the first position, Rong Mela Nari Kallyan Sangstha (RKNS) became second, and Agroz achieved the third position.
