Liton, Maya, Kamrul AL presidium members

AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Advocate Kamrul Islam were made presidium members of ruling Awami league (AL).

The decision was made at a meeting of executive committee of Awami League on Friday.

AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, is also mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation and president of Rajshahi Metropolitan Awami League, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Birbikram, is also central executive member of Awami League.

Besides, the ruling party also terminated Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Zahangir Alam from the central committee following his controversial comments about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He has been removed from the initial membership post also and a legal action has also been directed against him.

Earlier on October 3, Awami League issued a show cause notice on Gazipur City Corporation Mayor over his controversial comments on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the number of martyred freedom fighters.

Zahangir recently made some comments about Bangabandhu and the number of martyred freedom fighters at a programme and the video of it went viral.
