Transactions worth Tk 3,898.82 crore were made from various accounts of controversial e-commerce company Evaly, the Bangladesh Bank has found.

The High Court said the transactions were unusual when the BB report was submitted to the court on Thursday.

According to the report, BB analysed 67 documents of 13 bank accounts and financial institutions related to them or entities in favour of Evaly’s Managing Director Mohammad Rassel and his wife, the company Chairman Shamima Nasrin.

BB found there had been transactions worth Tk 3,898.82 crore in 36 accounts in the name of Evaly.

Meanwhile, the Commerce Ministry has informed the HC about the eight-point recommendation to save customers from e-commerce fraud. The ministry said the security committee for e-commerce would prepare the recommendations.

Earlier, the HC constituted a board to manage Evaly. According to the board, important documents of Evaly are kept in a locker of its head office. The court directed Rassel and his wife to provide the password to open the vault.

At the same time, the forensic department of CID has been directed to assist the board of directors in retrieving the information of the local server of Evaly. Prison authorities have also been asked to cooperate in this regard.
