Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 2 more deaths, 122 new infections

Bangladesh registered 2 more Covid related deaths and 122 new infections in the last 24hrs until Saturday morning. 

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,047 while the positivity rate stood at 0.87per cent.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,80,872 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 13,971 samples at 848 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,12,48,742 samples.

At the same time, 144 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,45,403.

Meanwhile, the global Covid cases reached 273,668,314 and fatalities reached 5,344,177.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
