Bangladesh added one new coronavirus-related death and 352 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Wednesday.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,052 while the positivity rate stood at 1.87 per cent.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,81,986, said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 18,779 samples at 849 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,13,25,717 samples.

At the same time, 281 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,46,352.

Meanwhile, the global Covid case reached 276,317,420 and fatalities reached 5,371,759.

According to the data, the country’s overall Covid-19 mortality rate until Wednesday morning stood at 1.77 per cent, and the overall recovery rate at 97.75 per cent.

On December 1, Bangladesh crossed a landmark of administering 100 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, nearly 10 months after kicking off a nationwide campaign.
