3rd Omicron case detected in Bangladesh

Another person infected with the latest coronavirus variant Omicron has been detected in Bangladesh, according to data found on the Global initiative on sharing all influenza data (GISAID) website on Monday.

The sample of the 56-year-old person was collected on December 23, according to GISAID, a genome sequence database, and he is a resident of Dhaka.

Earlier on December 11, two female cricketers of the national women’s cricket team were the first to be infected with the Omicron variant in Bangladesh.
