The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has revoked mendetory RT-PCR test for the United Arab Emirates ( UAE) bound passengers.
This direction came into effect from Tuesday morning at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), said a press release of the CAAB.
Earlier, in September last year, the UAE made an RT-PCR test mandatory for passengers from Bangladesh within six hours of reaching at the airport and another PRC test within 48 hours before the scheduled flight.
Following the direction, the government approved a total of six private laboratories for the test. The laboratories are: Gulshan Clinic Limited, Stemz Health Care (BD) Limited Dhaka, CSBF Health Centre, AMZ Hospital Limited, Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital (AKMMCH), and DMFR Molecular Lab and Diagnostics.
“A total of 3,34,830 passengers have been tested through the RT-PCR labs. Out of them only 4,025 reports come as positive until on February 21” Dr Shahriar Sazzad, health officer (in-charge) of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’ Health Centre told The Business Post.
