Biman’s Toronto flights from July 27

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will start commercial flights on the Dhaka-Toronto-Dhaka route from July 27. Those wishing to travel to Toronto will now be able to collect advance tickets.

Tickets for this route can be bought from any of Biman’s Sales Centers, any of Biman’s approved travel agencies, Biman’s commercial website www.biman-airlines.com and Call Center 01990998998, a Biman press release said on Sunday.

However, tickets cannot be purchased from Canada through a travel agency for the time being. The matter is still in the activation stage, the release added.

Initially, the flight will be operated on the Dhaka-Toronto-Dhaka route twice a week. Biman will fly from Dhaka to Toronto every Wednesday and Sunday. On the same day, the return flight from Toronto will depart for Dhaka.

The Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft is being used to operate flights on the route, said the release, adding that the flight will make a one-hour technical landing in Turkey’s Istanbul on its way from Dhaka. However, the return flight will land directly in Dhaka.

In case of departure from Bangladesh — after discount and including tax travel — the minimum fare for a one-way trip in economy class will be Tk 90,510. The return ticket fare will be Tk 1,53,370. Meanwhile, the one-way fare for the premium economy class will be Tk 1,27,300 and the return fare will be Tk 2,34,355. On the other hand, the one-way fare for business class travel will start at around Tk 1,64,100, and the minimum fare for the return ticket has been fixed at Tk 3,04,302.

In case of departure from Toronto — after discount and including tax travel -- The one-way fare in Economy Class is set at Canadian dollar 690. The return ticket price is Canadian dollar 1,233.

Besides, the premium economy class for the one-way fare is Canadian dollar 1,230 and the return ticket is Canadian dollar 2,178. Meanwhile, the business class for the one-way fare is 1,860 Canadian dollars and the return ticket price is 3,078 Canadian dollars. The release also said that the prices may vary slightly according to the exchange rate.

The passengers purchasing a ticket for this route within July 20 will get a 15 per cent discount (both one-way and return) on departure from Bangladesh.

However, passengers can also get a 25 per cent discount on this ticket. To avail of this discount, they not only have to purchase a ticket within July 20 but must also start travel within the date from July 27 to August 20. The 15 per cent discount will be applicable if they start travelling after August 20. An additional 10 per cent discount is available on ticket purchases using the promo code BGWEB2022 from Biman’s website.
