The prices of gold have gone up to Tk 90,746 a bhori (11.664 grams) – a record high – in the local market, Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) said on Saturday.
The association made the decision because of the price hike of gold in the local bullion market, BAJUS said in a press release. The new prices will come into effect from Sunday.
According to the BAJUS press release, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,333 to Tk 90,746 per bhori, 21 carat gold by Tk 2,216 to Tk 86,605 per bhori, and 18 carat gold by Tk 1924 to Tk 74,241 per bhori.
The price of traditional gold price has been increased by Tk 1,575 to Tk61,878 per bhori. However, BAJUS has kept the prices of silver unchanged.
