The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2023 will begin on April 30 under the 11 education boards across the country.
Dhaka Intermediate and Secondary Education Board Chairman Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar told The Business Post that they have sent a proposal of the exam routine to the education ministry for approval of starting the exams on April 30.
Earlier, education minister Dr Dipu Moni also said SSC and HSC exams in 2023 would be held in April and June, respectively, based on shortened syllabus.
The SSC and equivalent exams for 2022 began on September 15 last year due to the coronavirus pandemic and flood situation in the country.
Usually, the SSC exams are held from February 1 and HSC from April 1 every year. But these public exams were not held on time in the last two years due to Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
