LPG price jumps Tk266 within a month

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has yet again hiked the price of Liquefied Natural Gas (LPG) from Tk 1,232 to Tk 1,498 per 12kg LPG cylinder, signifying a Tk 266 hike within just a month.

On Thursday, the BERC fixed the per kg LPG price at Tk 124.85. Similarly, the price of autogas – used primarily in the transportation sector – has also increased. These new prices will be effective from 6pm the same day, reads a BERC press release.

Apart from the 12kg cylinder price, the rate for LPG cylinders of all sizes has increased. However, the 12.5 kg government LPG cylinder price remains changed.
