Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has issued a message wishing the Bangladesh Business Summit and the Golden Jubilee celebration of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) a grand success.

“I am happy to know that Bangladesh Business Summit-2023 and the Golden Jubilee celebration of FBCCI are being held on March 11-13 2023 in Dhaka,” she said.

In her message, the premier also extended her heartiest congratulations to the country’s citizens, the expatriates and the foreign delegates who are joining the auspicious events.

Bangladesh has already achieved the status of a ‘Developing’ country and has become the ‘Role Model’ for development in the world, she said.

The country achieved the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in time and is heading towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, she added.

The Awami League-led government has been investing in infrastructure, promoting entrepreneurship, and up-skilling the workforce with the vision of developing an advanced- prosperous nation and a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041 as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, she said.

“This journey has already begun with the first step of graduating as a developing country in 2021,” she added.

“Now we are keen to create an environment for private sector-driven development and minimize the cost of doing business by adopting appropriate policy regimes,” she added.

“We believe, the private sector is an engine of growth. Therefore, our government has given thrust to flourish the private industry and to create a favorable environment for investment,” she continued.

She hoped that Bangladesh Business Summit will be an instrument to highlight Bangladesh’s status of progress in the economic and social fronts to the global arena and also successfully identify the pressing needs of Bangladesh’s economy through their deliberations and discussions.
