Gold price comes down slightly

Jewellers have decided to decrease the price of gold by Tk 1,749 per bhori as its price decreased in the international market during the last one and a half months.

The new price will be effective from Monday, said a press release of Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

The price of gold has decreased in the bullion market due to decreased international market price. Considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewellery Association has fixed the new prices.

Earlier on April 15 last, BAJUS increased the price of gold, according to standard of carat, up to Tk 1,283.

Following the latest decrease, 22 carat gold will cost Tk 96,695 per bhori, down from Tk 98,444.

From Monday, the price of 21 carat gold will reduce by Tk 1,633 to Tk 92,321 per bhori, it was at Tk 93,954.

The price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,400 to Tk 79,140, it was at Tk 80,540 per bhori.

And traditional gold price has been reduced by Tk 1,166 to Tk 65,960, it was Tk 67,126 per bhori before reduced.

With this new gold price, customers of jewellery will have to pay Tk 3,499 minimum making charge per bhori and VAT at the rate of 5 per cent.
