Christmas Day, the biggest religious festival of Christians, will be celebrated in Bangladesh and elsewhere across the world on December 25. Five-star hotels have already taken preparations marking this day.
On the occasion of Christmas, an annual festival which is observed worldwide commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, the five-star hotels are decorated with lights of gingerbread houses, small Christmas trees and herds of deer.
Some hotel visitors said that arrangements made by five-star hotels for everything like Christmas tree, cookies house, and lighting are extraordinary.
“Seeing so many gifts and cakes on this day, it seems that Santa Claus has already arrived. Christmas is not only a festival for Christians, but also a festival for everyone,” one of the visitors said.
Father Adam S. Pereira, CSC, Treasurer, Notre Dame University said that it is the main religious festival of the Christian community. Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, was born on this day. The day is of great joy and significance for Christians all over the world.
Hotel InterContinental Dhaka is ready to celebrate the occasion. It will arrange different programs, including special buffet.
Fariba Faica, Public Relations Officer of Hotel InterContinental Dhaka, told The Business Post that they will hold Christmas carnival from 10:30 am to 1 pm on December 25 apart from various programs for children such as Christmas cakes, Santa Claus, magic shows and snowballs and so on.
“We will celebrate Christmas by cutting cake with children,” she said, adding that adults will have buffet meals at noon and night.
Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel Dhaka mentioned on their Facebook page that they will also arrange different programs, including a kids’ carnival. They said that the party will pack all the fun and action for your loved ones. This program will be held from 9 am to 9 pm on December 25 and the ticket price is Tk 1,200 per person (child/adult).
Fun-Packed Carnival will showcase Exclusive Magic Show and Puppet Show, Exclusive Michael Jackson Performance, Lot of Rides, Trampoline, Bouncy Castle, Acrobatic Jugglers, Lot of Games, Magic Boat, Horse Cart Ride, Attractive Raffle Draw and many more fun attractions.
Shehrina Wahid, Public Relations Manager of The Westin Dhaka, said that they will also arrange programs on the occasion of Christmas Day.
According to The Westin Dhaka Facebook page, they will host the most exciting Christmas Kids Party at Grand Ballroom from 9:30 am to 4 pm.
The kids will be enjoying with Santa Claus. Besides, Christmas treats, VR & Arcade Games, Fun Rides, Thrilling Competitions, Magic show, Puppet show and many other surprises in the day program.
The event is ticketed where each ticket gives access to the party and food where ticket price is Tk 1,700 per person (adult or child).
The Westin Dhaka will also arrange Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Buffet Dinner on December 24-25 with Tk 7,500 net per person and Christmas Day Buffet Brunch on December 25 with Tk 6,000 net per person and Complimentary Kids Party Access.
Apart from Dhaka, hotels in various tourist spots, especially Cox’s Bazar, have already completed all preparations to celebrate Christmas Day.
