Some 71 government and two private libraries across the country are set to turn into e-libraries by June, 2022 after the expansion of online service activities in those designated libraries.
The decision was further reviewed on Sunday at a virtual meeting between the Department of Information and Communication Technology and the Ministry of Culture.
According to the meeting, which also came up with an outline for the implementation of the new initiative, there would be a unique digital management system where e-books will be available at each tier of the libraries. Besides, there will be separate children and Mujib Corner.
