Atlas Bangladesh asked to set up oxygen plant

Industries Secretary Zakia Sultana on Saturday asked the Atlas Bangladesh Limited, a state-owned company under the Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation, to take immediate action to set up an oxygen plant.

She also instructed the company to go to bicycle and fan production along with increasing the motorcycle production.

The Industries Secretary gave the instructions while inspecting the factories of BSEC under the Ministry of Industries in Gazipur district and exchanging views with the officers and employees, said a press release.

During the inspection, Zakia said the marketing system should be given utmost importance along with increasing the production.

By ensuring proper utilization of the resources of the factories, she said, the organization needs to formulate plans to make profit.

In order to survive in a competitive market, Zakia said it is necessary to manage the overall production like a world-renowned organization.

She said project managers need to increase supervision and monitoring of work in their respective project areas.

Among others, BSEC Chairman Md Raich Uddin, BSEC Director (Finance) Md Monirul Islam, Industries Ministry Joint Secretary Md Al Amin Sarkar and Deputy Secretary Md Mokleshur Rahman Akand were present on the occasion.
