The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Liberation War Affairs Ministry today recommended to make the treatment of freedom fighters (FFs) completely free in all government and 22 specialized hospitals and to increase the medical allowance of FFs from Taka 50,000 to Taka 75,000.
The JS body came up with the suggestion at its 20th meeting at the parliament complex here with its chairman Shajahan Khan in the chair, a release said. The committee members - Liberation Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Kazi Firoz Rashid and AKM Rahmatullah attended the meeting.
The committee members also recommended to shift the existing shops to the ground floor of the district or upazila Bir Muktijoddha Complex office.
The parliamentary watchdog suggested to present a report on the implementation and progress of the recommendations of the 1st-20th meeting before the ministry at the next meeting.
