Mother of social welfare minister dies

Shamsunnahar Begum, mother of Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, died at a city hospital on Wednesday at the age of 90.

She left behind six sons, seven daughters and a host of family and relatives to mourn her death, said a release.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Shamsunnahar Begum, mother of Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed.
