Taposh for symbolic trial of Zia over Aug 15

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said that the symbolic trial of the murderer Ziaur Rahman should be completed by forming a commission so that the nation could get rid of the stigma.

“The killer Ziaur Rahman was fully involved in hatching conspiracy for the assassination of Bangabandhu and his family. The symbolic trial of the BNP founder Ziaur Rahman should be completed by forming a commission,” he said.

The DSCC mayor made the remarks while talking to reporters after paying homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members who were brutally killed on August 15, 1975, placing wreaths at their graves at Banani graveyard in the city this morning.

Earlier, the DSCC mayor paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing a wreath at his portrait on Nagar Bhaban premises and Bangabandu Museum in city’s Dhanmondi.

He also paid homage to Bangabandhu at Bangabandu Museum under the banner of Bangabandhu Awami Ayinjibi Parishad.

Later, he took part in a discussion, prayer, doa-mahfil and food distribution programme among the poor organized by Dhaka Samity and Awami League Ward No 35 at Nayabazar in the city.
