$50m AFD loan for Bangladesh energy sector

A loan agreement was signed under which the French Development Agency would provide 50 million soft loans to Bangladesh for the ‘Energy efficiency, renewable energy, and Women Entrepreneurship’ linked projects.

Fatima Yasmin, secretary, Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance and Benoit Chassatte, AFD Country Director for Bangladesh, signed the loan agreement on behalf of the respective sides, said a press release.

The project will contribute to the process of the economic transition of Bangladesh towards a greener economy.
