JS body scrutinises delimitation of constituencies bill

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Sunday discussed the delimitation of constituencies bill 2021.

After elaborate discussion on the bill, the committee recommended for placing the report at the parliament for enactment as law, a parliament press release said.

With committee chairman M Shahiduzzaman Sarker in the chair, the meeting was attended, among others, by committee members and law, Justice and Parliamentary affairs minister Anisul Huq, Mostafizur Rahman, M Shamsul Haque Tuku, M Abdul Mazid Khan, Shamim Haider Patwary, Gloria Jharna Sarker, Selim Altaf Jeorge and Khodeza Nasrin Akhter.

At the outset of the meeting, the committee prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members those were killed on August 15, 1975 including Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the national four leaders and all other martyrs since the War of Liberation in 1971.

The JS body also expressed condolence over the death of former committee chairman Abdul Matin Khosru and observed one minute silence seeking eternal peace of his departed soul.
