Bangladesh will develop further if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina lives a hundred years, said M Manjur Alam, former mayor of Chattogram City Corporation.
He made the remark at an event hosted by Alhaj Mostafa-Hakim Welfare Foundation on Alhaj Mustafa Hakim College premises in the port city on Tuesday marking the 75th birthday of the Prime Minister, reads a press release on Wednesday.
Manjur Alam, also the executive director of Alhaj Mostafa-Hakim Welfare Foundation, said, “Only Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana survived when her whole family was brutally shot dead on August 15, 1975. Bangladesh is now a developing country because she is alive.”
“Bangladesh will develop even more if Sheikh Hasina lives a hundred years,” he added. Construction materials were distributed among homeless people, and clothes and food items were given away to the poor and helpless at the event.
