E-commerce Anonder Bazar MD withdraws bank deposits, vanishes

E-commerce platform Anonder Bazar Managing Director AH Khandker Mithu has disappeared after withdrawing deposits from different banks.

Police say the company’s office at Jabbar Tower in the capital’s Gulshan Avenue remains closed since Monday night and the mobile phone numbers are also switched off.

A rumour is spreading that Mithu has fled to Dubai, but police have not confirmed this.

A senior official of the Criminal Investigation Department told The Business Post a letter had been sent to the immigration department of the special branch of police on Tuesday, asking them to prevent Mithu’s attempts to flee through any of the three international airports or land ports.
