Let’s GO Mart to follow cash on delivery method

E-commerce platform Let's GO Mart officially launched on Tuesday and would follow the cash on delivery method in its operations.

With the slogan "Never let go of your needs", it will operate via a business-to-consumer model.

Speaking at the launching ceremony at the AHM Mahmudul Haque Auditorium at The Daily Star Centre in the capital, the company’s Managing Director Golam Mostafa said their platform’s significant services include the assurance of fast delivery, the combination of quality products, and the opportunity to deliver products produced by small entrepreneurs.

“Fashion accessories, electronics, home appliances, smartphones, gadgets, handicrafts, and daily necessities will be available on our platform. Our overall activities will be governed by the ‘You Shop We Drop’ policy.”

Presenting the company’s business plan at the programme, its Director and Chief Operating Officer Syed Ashraf-Us-Saleheen said they had emphasised two aspects in their business model.

“One is cash on delivery. We will buy products from merchants and corporates in cash, deliver those to our customers, and receive cash from them. The other is the ‘zero warehouse and zero advance’ system, meaning no product will be stocked and no advance will be taken.”

He said it is common in the country's e-commerce sector that many traders act as re-sellers, and that is why such businesses have faced various problems.

There is no chance of doing business as a re-seller at Let's GO Mart, he said.

"Our platform will always be transparent in encouraging consumers and sellers to do business in the right way. This will play a strong role in reviving the country’s e-commerce sector,” he explained.

“At the same time, we will continue to work to help new women entrepreneurs survive in the competitive market and create more entrepreneurs as well,” he said.

He further said their platform offers more than 8,000 products in 10 categories, and consumers can order products through the app and the website.

“The company will pay merchants in cash while buying products. The product delivery company will collect the goods from merchants. It will then deliver those to customers and accept cash payments,” he added.

Let's GO Mart is part of Let's GO Tech, a private company that started its journey on February 11, 2018.

It plans to add several lifestyle-based services, such as delivery, ride-sharing, health management, tour and travel, and real estate.
