22 unions get broadband internet connection

Twenty-two unions under Nawabganj and Dohar of Dhaka came under broadband internet coverage.

The prime minister’s adviser for private industry and investment, Salman F Rahman, launched the broadband connectivity at a function on Saturday.

Information and Communication Technology Division implemented the project as part of its Info Sarkar-3 project.

“When Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to power in 2009, per capita income was only $450. And after 11 years, it rose to $2,227.

This trend of development must be continued. For this, everyone has to work hard like the Prime Minister,” he said adding that Bangladesh is reaping the benefits of courage, honesty, and foresight of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “Today every house in Nawabganj is illuminated with electricity, freelancers here want high-speed internet, teachers want more computer labs.”

“The representatives of the people demand a high-tech park and Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation Center so that investment in more modern technology can come here. But 12 years ago, the prime demand of people of this area was electricity connection, repair of roads, and paving unpaved roads,” he added.
