Tazul for ensuring transparency in cooperatives

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam on Saturday called for ensuring transparency and accountability in the country’s all cooperative societies for taking the cooperative system at a dignified position.

He said it is possible to bring massive positive changes in rural areas by implementing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s philosophy of ‘Amar Gram, Amar Sahar’ (My Village, My Town’ through cooperatives.

Mentioning that it is possible to bring qualitative change in the entire country with the utilization of the benefit of cooperative system, Tazul said transparency and accountability should be ensured not only in cooperative system but also in all institutions and even at individual level.

If transparency and accountability is ensured, areas of works and quality would enhance, he said. State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharjee addressed the function as the special guest with Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Secretary Md Mashiur Rahman in the chair.
