Govt working for betterment of ethnic groups: Sadhan

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder on Saturday said the present government is working for the betterment of all, not only for the just small ethnic groups.

“Everyone will have equal rights in this country irrespective of religion, caste, creed or group and that Sheikh Hasina’s government is ensuring for all countrymen,” he said.

He said while speaking as the chief guest at a function arranged to distribute fodder under the Livestock Development Project aimed at improving the socio-economic and living standards of the upazila’s ethnic minorities at Niamatpur Pilot Government High School ground here this afternoon.

The government has undertaken various projects for the wellbeing of ethnic groups, and employment opportunities are being created under this project, the food minister said, appealing the beneficiaries of small ethnic groups to utilize these incentives properly.

He also said that members of small ethnic groups should contribute to the advancement of the society preventing drug abuse and child marriage.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has turned the country into a role model of development, and a middle-income country. The present government is giving incentives to the farmers, so there is no shortage of fertilizer as well as food in the country.
