9 injured in gas meter explosion in city

At least nine people, including women and children, were injured in a gas meter explosion at a house at Alu Bazar in the city’s Bangshal area in the last night.

Among the nine, three people were burnt and six other sustained injuries while trying to getting down from the apartment in a hasty manner.

The injured were rushed to DMCH and Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost in-charge (inspector) Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter.

In the incident, Md Kamal Hossain (35), his wife Selina Akhter (30), and his daughter Banya Akhter (7) sustained burn injuries.

The injured are Aminul Islam (35), his wife Sheela Akhter (25), daughter Arifa (6) and son Asadullah (4), and Maruf Hossain (12), Nusrat (1) and Malina (21).
