EC all set to hold polls in 9 Manikganj unions

The Election Commission (EC) has completed all necessary preparations for holding today’s elections in nine union parishads of Manikganj’s Saturia upazila.

The district election office said 36 candidates would contest for

nine chairman posts, 283 for 81 general member posts, and 97 female candidates for 27 seats reserved for women.

Besides, 1,42,004 voters will cast their votes at 483 booths in 81 centres.

District Election Officer Sheikh Mohammad Habibur Rahman said 81

Presiding Officers, 454 Assistant Presiding Officers, and 908 Polling Officers

were appointed for holding the elections.

Earlier, all the election officials were given training for conducting

elections smoothly. All election-related materials were also sent to the polling centres.

Law enforcers have been deployed at all voting centres to maintain law and

order. Voting will begin at 8am and will continue till 4pm without any break.
