Inu discusses with facebook over rumour prevention

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Ministry Hasanul Haq Inu on Monday discussed with facebook on prevention of rumours being spread using the social media.

Inu joined the meeting virtually from his Sangsad Bhaban Office with Head of Public Policy (Bangladesh) of Facebook Sabhanaz Rashid Diya stationed in Singapore office, said a press release here.

Inu, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod), informed the facebook of different problems of the social media and its management issues in Bangladesh.

Diya said facebook is positive in question of getting touch with Bangladesh authorities and since 2015, the social media has been continuing its deep relation with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

She assured the chairman of the parliamentary watchdog of providing overall support for resolving all problems related to facebook.
