JS body for retrieving land encroached in Gulshan, Dhanmondi

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Housing and Public Works has recommended to recover the lands of Gulshan and Dhanmondi areas from the encroachers.

The committee made the recommendation at its 18th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee Chairman Eng Mosharraf Hossain in the chair on Thursday.

Committee members State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed, Narayon Chandra Chanda, Bazlul Haque Haroon and Md Monowar Hossain Chowdhury also attended it.

Besides, the parliamentary watchdog also decided to build multi-storey buildings to insure accommodation for the government workers and officials based on priority.

The committee has decided to take steps for resolving water logging problem and preventing dumping of garbage in canals in Chattogram.
