Pacific Jeans Group Chairman Nasir Uddin dies

Eminent businessman and Pacific Jeans Group Chairman M Nasir Uddin died at a hospital in Bangkok on Monday afternoon. He was 71.

He died at 4:30pm Thailand time while undergoing treatment there, said a press release issued by Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Nasir is survived by wife and three sons.

He will be laid to rest family graveyard at Salimpur of Chattogram after three funeral prayers at Chattogrm EPZ at 9:30am, at Jamiatul Falah Mosque after zohr prayers and at his ancestral home at Salimpur after asr prayers on March 2.

Nasir was a Commercially Important Person and a director of the apparel sector apex body Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association. He earned National Export Trophy for several times.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in message expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of eminent businessman and Pacific Jeans Group chairman M Nasir Uddin.

One behalf of the BGMEA Board of Directors, former presidents, former first vice-presidents, and former vice-presidents, the association first vice-president Syed Nazur Islam and vice-president Rakibul Alam Chowdhury in a message expressed deep shock at the death of Nasir Uddin.

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mahbubul Alam and senior vice-president Tarafdar M Ruhul Amin also condoled the death of Nasir Uddin.
