8.1kg gold seized at HSIA, 2 held

The preventive team of Dhaka Customs House has detained two persosn and seized 70 bars of gold weighing 8.1 kilograms kept in a trashbag which was disposed of from an aircraft of Emirates Airlines on at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning.

Md Sanuwarul Kabir, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, told the media that the Emirates flight arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) from Sharjah at 9:30am.

After the passengers disembarked theflight, the preventive team, based on information from the National Security Intelligence, rushed to the aircraft and seized the illegal consignment of gold

He said after the take out of passengers, he said. Necessary legal actions will be taken in this regard, he added.
