Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Sunday said that the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams slated for June 25 will be shifted to June 24 for the Padma Bridge inauguration.
The minister came up with the information at a press briefing held at the ministry after a meeting of the Law and Order Committee regarding the SSC examinations scheduled to begin on June 19.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the Padma Bridge on June 25.
The minister also said all the coaching centres across the country will remain closed from June 15 to July 7 during the SSC and equivalents exams.
A total of 20,21,868 students are expected to sit at 3,790 examination centres for the examinations under nine general education boards, Madrasah education Board and Technical Education Board.
The SSC and its equivalent examinations will begin on June 19, about three and a half months later than usual time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Like the previous year, SSC exams this year will also be held on a shortened syllabus.
The theoretical exams will end on July 6, and practical tests will be held between July 13 and 19.
