Visiting Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed at the Army Headquarters on Monday.

The Indian army chief thanked the Bangladesh army chief for inviting him to Bangladesh.

The two army chiefs also discussed various issues of ties between the armies of the two countries and their future advancement, said an ISRP release.

Being apprised of the war preparedness, advanced training, role in global peace and overall administrative structure of the Bangladesh Army, General Pande lauded the present leadership of the Bangladesh Army and its overall high standard.

He was later given a guard of honour by a smart contingent of the army at Senakunja and planted a tree sapling there.
