The Election Commission is all set to begin dialogue with the ruling Awami League and Jatiya Party today.
Today is the last day of the ongoing dialogue of the EC with the political parties ahead the occasion of the forthcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad elections.
The Awami League delegation will participate in the dialogue at the Election Commission Office under the leadership of party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday at 3:00.
Prior to the dialogue, Awami League will submit the audited account report of 2021 calendar year at the EC office at 10 am.
On the day, Jatiya Party led by its Chairman GM Quader will also hold a dialogue with the EC from 11 am to 1:00pm.
The Election Commission on July 17 began talks with the registered political parties to decide its course of action for the next parliamentary elections.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party and few other parties did not join the talks.
Earlier, the commission had invited 39 political parties registered with it to the talks on the use of electronic voting machines.
Of them, 28 political parties responded to the commission invitations and 11 parties, including the BNP, had rejected the invitation.
The president appointed Kazi Habibul Awal-led five-member Election Commission on February 26.
The new commission took office on February 28, the day after the appointment of the chief election commissioner and other election commissioners.
After taking charge of the electoral system of the country, the commission started dialogue with various stakeholders ahead of the 12th parliamentary elections.
