3 Bangladeshis killed in Saudi road accident

Three Bangladeshis including two siblings from Comilla’s Manoharganj upazila were killed when a private car fell into a ditch in Saudi Arabia.

The accident happened in the country’s Al Qassim city around 1 pm (BST) on Thursday.

Ashikur Rahman Howladar Hiron, chairman of Jholom Dakshin union under Manoharganj upazila, confirmed the matter on Friday morning.

The deceased are Md Farooq Hossain, 25, and Md Parvez Hossain, 20, sons of Abul Kashem, and Md Saddam, 21, son of Abul Bashar.

All three hailed from Mirzapur village of the union.

Kashem’s younger brother Sumon Mia, and nephew Rubel Hossain were seriously injured in the accident. They have been kept on life support in a hospital there.

“Five of them were on their way to the market when the car fell into a ditch. Three of them died on the spot while the other two were critically injured,” said Ashikur Rahman.

“The families have sought help from the government to bring the bodies back to the country,” he added.
