The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be held in March from next year, said Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md Abu Bakar Siddique on Thursday.
“Although the SSC exam are being held in September this year, next year’s examination will be held in March,” he said
He came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after visiting a SSC examination centre at Ideal School and College at Motijheel in the capital.
Abu Bakar Siddique said there was no news of question paper leak in this year’s examination but legal action will be taken if anyone spreads rumours about it.”
Noting that no problem was reported at any exam centre across the country, he said the students reached the examination centre on time and the exams are holding peacefully.
Considering the traffic congestion and inconsiderate weather on the road, this year the exams are being taken at 11:00 am instead of at 10:00am.
This year’s SSC and equivalent exams began on Thursday at 3,790 centres under 11 education boards.
This year, a total of 2,021,868 students are expected to take the SSC and its equivalent exams at 3,790 centres under the 11 education boards.
About 1,599,711 candidates are sitting for the SSC exams under nine general education boards, 268,495 for the Dakhil exam under Madrasa Education Board, and 153,662 for vocational exam under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
Usually, the SSC and its equivalent exams take place in February, but this year they were deferred for about four months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
They were scheduled to start on June 19, but were postponed due to the deteriorating flood situation in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
