The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Monday underscored the exchange of knowledge and experience with the Maldives in the tourism sector as the sector played a key role in the South Asian country’s economic development.
“The Maldives, an Indian Ocean archipelago, has ensured a revolution in its economy through inter-island connectivity, green tourism, climate-friendly infrastructure, and renewable energy,” DNCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Selim Reza said.
He attended a painting exhibition of children marking the 50th anniversary of the Maldivian tourism industry at the Maldives High Commission in Dhaka, according to a press release.
“The cooperation between the two countries will increase through sharing of knowledge and experience in tourism and other sectors,”
he said.
Before attending the programme, Selim Reza who led a delegation of DNCC exchanged greetings with the High Commissioner of the Maldives Shiruzimath Sameer.
