Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology on Tuesday went out on demonstrations on the campus demanding justice to the death of their fellow student Fardin Noor Parash.

They formed a human chain under the banner of general students in front of BUET Shaheed Minar after Fardin's namaz-e-janaza at the campus Central Mosque. Fardin was a 3rd year student of civil engineering department at BUET.

The students demanded immediate arrest of those behind Fardin's death after identifying them.

Fardin's body was brought to BUET campus in the morning after autopsy at Nagayanganj General Hospital.

Resident Medical Officer at Nagayanganj General Hospital, Dr Sheikh Farhad, after the autopsy of Fardin, told journalists that that it was clean murder. “There were marks of injury all over his head. Internal injuries were found inside his chest,” he said, reports The Business Post correspondent in Narayanganj.

Police have detained two friends of Fardin for interrogation, said Maniruzzaman Moni, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj River Police, said. Police are also trying to find clues to and possible reasons behind Fardin's death, he said.

On Monday, police found Fardin's body floating on the Shitalakhkhya river behind Laxminarayn Cotton Mills at Siddhirganj, three days after he went missing.

On November 4, Fardin left home and did not return. He was also unreachable on the phone.

Later, his father lodged a general diary with Rampura Police in this regard.

Fardin’s father Kazi Noor Uddin said Fardin was good at debating and he was supposed to represent Bangladesh in the World Debating Championship to be held in Spain in December.

Noor Uddin, editor and publisher of business newspaper The Riverine, said, “I was not solvent enough being a journalist. Fardin used to teach students privately to run his expenses.”

After the funeral prayers at BEUT mosque, Fardin’s mortal remains were taken to their Konapara house in Demra and later buried at village home at Delpara in Fatullah of Narayanganj.
