BNP seeks permission for Dec 10 rally

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Tuesday sought permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold their much-talked-about rally on December 10 in front of the party’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital.

But the DMP officials said BNP will be allowed to hold its December 10 mass rally in the capital after analysing intelligence report.

DMP’s Deputy Commissioner Md Faruk Hossain told the reporters at its media center at Minto Road that they received an application from the BNP seeking permission for the rally and they will now consider whether they would allow them or not.

“We will see if there is any risk (around the rally) analysing the information given by our intelligence agencies,” he added. Earlier in the day, a BNP seven-member delegation met DMP Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq and discussed the issues of permission and security for holding the Dhaka divisional rally.
