Fardin was last seen at Jatrabari: DB

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash was last seen at Jatrabari intersection around 2:15am, according to the Detective Branch (DB).

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) DB Chief Harun Or Rashid briefed the information while talking to the journalists on Thursday.

“Fardin was dropped off at a laguna (transporter) by a youth in a white t-shirt on the night of his disappearance. There were four others in that laguna, which was heading to Tarabo. The driver and associates have been kept under surveillance,” he said.

“The cause of death and the place where Fardin was murdered are still unknown,” he added.

Earlier on November 7, the river police found the body of Fardin, who was a third-year student of the civil engineering department, in the Shitalakshya River, behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj in Narayanganj, three days after he went missing.

His autopsy was conducted at Narayanganj General Hospital on November 8. Doctors said there were several injury marks on Fardin’s head and body.
