Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) students formed a human chain on the university campus on Tuesday demanding a quick and fair investigation into the murder of Fardin Noor Parash, a third-year student of civil engineering department.
Under the banner of the general students, they staged protest around 1:30 pm.
Fardin's father Kazi Noor Uddin expressed his 'disappointment' as no one has yet been arrested even one month after the murder of his son.
"I have nothing to say after losing my child. Today everyone is here except my son,” he said in a tearful voice.
He further said, “It is sad that I lost my son almost a month ago but we could not yet know about the reason behind the murder of my son. We don't know what happened to him. It was a planned murder, but no one is brought to justice till now.”
It is disappointing that the investigating agencies have not made any progress in this regard. “But we believe that they will act appropriately. The culprits should be found out and brought to justice after completing the investigation quickly,” he added.
He also sought the Prime Minister’s intervention in this regard.
Almost one month has passed since the recovery of Fardin's body. But till now the mystery of this murder has not been solved and the killers have not been identified.
Students said that they get confused by the conflicting information coming to the media from the investigation agencies.
They demanded the law enforcers should identify the killers of Fardin Noor Parash as early as possible, arrest them and bring them to justice.
BUET students carrying placards also demanded justice, saying “We want assurance of safe life. We want justice for Fardin's murder.”
On November 7, the police found the body of Fardin floating in the Shitalakshya River at Siddhirganj in Narayanganj three days after he went missing.
His autopsy was conducted at Narayanganj General Hospital on November 8. Doctors said there were several injury marks on Fardin’s head and body.
